Marilyn Monroe Conspiracy Take

On August 5th 1962, Norma Jeane Mortenson, also known as Marilyn Monroe, was found dead in her Los Angeles home on 5th Helena Drive. The declared cause of death: overdose. This declaration was made under the “presumptive opinion” (Los Angeles Times, 1962) of Coroner Theodore J. Curphey, who only conducted an autopsy at the County Morgue. Without having the necessary tools to conduct a full-on autopsy, he blindly determined that Monroe’s fatality was a result of misusing “some drug” and decided that a special suicide investigation team, rather than a special investigation unit, should look into the days prior to Monroe’s death.

Why was the death of such a big icon to be treated so lightly? Her body was discovered at 3:30 a.m. the night of her death, after the housekeeper, Eunice Murray, supposedly noticed a light flickering through the night. The light was coming from Miss Monroe’s room, so she decided to investigate. When Monroe failed to answer to the housekeeper shouting and banging on the door, Murray decided to call Dr. Ralph Greenson, Monroe’s psychiatrist, who smashed a window to gain access to Monroe’s room, leading to the discovery of her lifeless body. Isn’t it common to fall asleep with the lights on if you were not planning on sleeping in the first place? I know I’ve done it. Also what was Murray doing at 3:30 a.m. to make her see this light? Monroe did not write a ‘good-bye’ note, in fact the only indication that her death was a suicide or overdose were the pill bottles on her nightstand.

Patricia Newcomb, Monroe’s best friend at the time, claims that Marilyn was doing great and was very healthy leading up to her death. She had plans with friends, her lawyer, she planned on getting back on the big screen and had many job offerings at the time including starring in a French musical abroad. Not to mention her photos from a 1950s shoot had grossed over two hundred million. Marilyn even spoke with Ex-son-in-law Joe DiMaggio Jr. on the phone around 7 p.m. the night of her death, and he said she sounded in high spirits, nothing out of the ordinary.

During the months leading up to Monroe’s death, it is alleged she was having an affair with both President John F. Kennedy and brother, also U.S Attorney General, Robert F. Kennedy. A letter written from Jean Kennedy, the duo’s sister, to Monroe confirms allegations that Monroe was indeed “an item” with Robert. When the affair went awry, Monroe privately threatened to go public with highly classified information over a phone call to the White House.

According to uncovered CIA documentation Monroe made a call to the U.S Attorney General’s office making “cryptic references to plans to kill Fidel Castro, bases in Cuba and is claimed to have a diary of secrets.” (Daily Star, 2017). The CIA files also note actor Peter Lawford, the president’s brother-in-law, called Marilyn on the night of her death to ask her to come his party that night.

Wait there’s more, remember Monroe’s best friend Patricia Newcomb? She was married to Lawford and coincidently studied under Pierre Salinger, JFK’s press secretary. Newcomb’s father also represented George Skakel, father-in-law of RFK. It was also Newcomb who recommended Marilyn chose Eunice Murray as her house keeper, although she claims she ‘never liked Murray’.

According to Murray, Monroe’s housekeeper, RFK and Peter Lawford made a surprise visit with Newcomb and Monroe the day of her death. Newcomb outright denies murray’s allegations and RFK allegedly provided police with a photo of him at a ranch the day of the murder, however, Lawford’s neighbour claims he saw both men that day at Lawford’s home. Murray continued on to say Marilyn was displeased with RFK’s sudden appearance and after returning from an errand the men were gone, but Marilyn was distraught.

Newcomb. Monroe’s best friend, attended the funeral of Marilyn Monroe on August 8th 1962, crying loudly for press then was seen just days later in jolly spirits with the Kennedy family on their private yacht. She even refuses to write memoirs or post-mortem notes in Monroe’s honor. Does Patricia Newcomb know more about Marilyn Monroe’s death than she says?

Monroe had suffered through poverty and hardship at a young age as Norma Mortenson, giving her a more optimistic view on life. Becoming Marilyn Monroe gave her the strength and ability to become the idol she still remains. She believed you could be whatever you wanted if you tried hard enough, because the poverty-struck girl Norma became sex legend and Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe. It’s such a tragedy that mystery of her death remain unsolved.
